Welcome to Peter West Associates

Peter West is an expert in Health Economics with over 40 years' experience of applied health economics, health service management and strategy and health services research.  Peter has an extensive track record in both the private and public sectors.  

 

In the private sector, Peter has worked for a wide range of pharmaceutical companies in the UK and overseas, developing and testing models of new medications and appliances.  He has also carried out research on NICE guidance.

 

In the public sector, Peter has worked at all levels of the NHS in England and the Department of Health, in Scotland, Wales and Ireland.  His work includes extensive work on private health insurance in the Republic of Ireland as well as many studies on the operation of the NHS in the UK.  Peter has also worked further afield, on the evaluation of a wide range of programmes in developing countries, most recently South Africa.  

 

Peter has a doctorate in health economics from the University of York and is the author of a wide range of books and research papers in health economics and health service organisation and delivery.
